AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY
The Author
Jenny L'Amour is a professional health care worker and part-time
writer.
She has long read and admired African-American women writers and the
richness of their lives. She says, "Mama Duck has been around for
generations but perhaps not officially recorded." Ms. L'Amour's
interaction with her own children and grandchildren, as well as periodic
experiences with children of varied cultures keeps stimulating new
creative energies. She is floating or waddling around somewhere on
the East Coast waiting for another inspiration.
The Artist
Dawn Henderson Farmer was born
into a very artist family. Her mother encouraged her art as a child
and she then went on to illustrate for a published book at the age of 14.
Although she did not pursue a career in art, it has always been one of her
favorite pastimes. Mrs. Henderson Farmer received a Bachelors Degree
in Chemistry and was propelled into teaching. She has used her gift
in her classroom in order to assist students grasp science concepts.
She has designed logo's for several companies and desires to one day write
her own children's book. She recently received her Masters in
Education from North Carolina State University. Mrs. Farmer says,
"God's gifts should be used to help others see the beauty of the world.
Through art I am able to free myself from the daily chaos and enter a
world of peace."
